Ranking For Keywords
There are a lot of articles, books and online sources that say “rank for keywords“. I find it confusing, because what we all want is to have the search engines rank us for our keywords.
Search engine ranking is a very good way to establish your site among the rest of the websites out there. But, it can be much more than that.
To know what SEO is all about, you have to go beyond the basics. If you take SEO as a mathematical formula that says SEO should be practiced, then there’s no way you can apply it. It’s something else, so what is it?
A lot of people think that SEO is only about how many visitors or “clicks” are brought to your site through SEO, but the truth is it’s about a lot more than that. The reason is that a lot of people get lost in the math. Just like we have different educational levels, so does SEO.
When you think about it, SEO can be looked at from a lot of different angles – as a process, as a methodology, as a way of thinking. And, in my opinion, it should always be approached as a way of thinking. If we talk about an SEO strategy, we should not forget the importance of the goal.
In other words, we should always be on the lookout for places where we can improve the rankings of our websites for the top page.
And, when we’re looking for these top page places, there are also some things that we need to look for:
Content –
When you are optimizing your websites, then you should always look for places where you can add content. And, it’s not just about writing articles anymore. We also need to look for other content sources – not just article sites anymore. At the end of the day, it all comes down to the content that we are providing to our visitors.
Visitors –
You should always aim for the best website and the best visitors that you can get. It’s the very essence of optimizing your website – getting the best clients that you can.
Links –
The search engines rank your site based on the number of links that you have. You should always try to get as many quality backlinks as you can. And, there are lots of ways to do that.
Meta descriptions –
Meta descriptions are important too, but they’re not really SEO. But, it’s still a very important part of optimization because your Meta tags to determine what people see when they visit your website. So, if you get the right content, that’s all the better.
PPC advertising –
We use PPC advertising when we run ads on Google and other search engines. PPC advertising is also sometimes referred to as pay per click advertising or PPC marketing.
There’s no limit to what you can achieve in terms of improving your rankings. However, the key to achieving the best rankings in this regard is to always make sure that you look for a place where you can optimize and improve your rankings.
